Could I Have Lupus And Cancer Cancer && Lupus ; Is Chemotherapy Safe?

Cancer && Lupus ; is Chemotherapy safe? - could i have lupus and cancer

My mother had lupus for 35 years and was recently diagnoised with cancer three weeks ago - who died last Sunday. I'm not sure whether chemotherapy was the right choice for them because I think their lupus is active and white blood cell count is low. Chemo gets rid of the non-white blood cells?

The doctors told us that he is the presence of white blood cells, which he did not think the fight against infections. Double pneumonia during their hospital stay and was given the spread of cancer. How do white blood cells / / no immune system can not fight it.

Chemo was the right choice for them?

What kind of cancer? There are over 200 species.
What is chemotherapy? There are over 100 drugs.
What was the stage of malignancy?
How old were you?
What was his white blood cells in the treatment - especially the ANC?
How can we answer this question too vague?

Chemotherapy is sometimes used to treat lupus erythematosus (lupus), it is not a resistance indication.

Chemotherapy is never quite sure. "It is always risky.
But the alternative is doing nothing for many cancer patients.
Most patients and family members will not accept the lack of a treatment approach.

Neutropenia (low white blood cell) is a risk for most of the hundreds of different chemotherapy regimens for many cancers. Patients who lost to infections such as pneumonia, when they were subjected to aggressive chemotherapy. No way to aggressive cancer, without the risk to deal with. Life in hindsight, we now know that the treatment should be reduced by the mother. The decline is 20/20, as they say

first truly sorry for your loss. You have the right of the chemotherapy, your white blood cell count and reduce red. I do not know if the chemotherapy was the right thing for your mother, but I think the doctors have done everything to save his life. It is difficult to cover if you do not fight against infections, as it is usually what kills someone, probably more than the cancer itself. Havin lupus is probably the cause.
